Emily Irene VanCamp originally wanted to be professional dancer. After spending time with her sister Katie in her role on the Ladies Room movie set, Emily began to be interested in acting. Alongside studying acting, VanCamp landed the role of a guest on a show that aired in Canada. She starred as a guest on several shows in Are You afraid Of the Dark? Radio Active. VanCamp made a breakthrough in his career when he was cast in the WB horror/mystery television show Glory Days as Sam Dolan. It was cancelled after nine episodes despite the positive review and ratings that were low. The 12th of May, 1986 actress immediately secured a new role in Everwood. The character she plays Amy Abbott is one of the main characters. Her performance resulted in her being nominated for an Young Artist Award nominee and for four Teen Choice Awards.
